Every price here is a court price per hour — what the court costs, whether two of you play or four. A doubles group splits it four ways. Cheapest court for a doubles game without any membership: Bensheim or Seeheim in the morning at €20 (€5 each); indoors at Bilgin it is €30 (€7.50 each).

TSG is the only venue here that charges each player individually rather than the court, by membership status. All four names go into the booking, the person booking pays for everyone, and each player is charged at their own status. So the €32 above is four non-members in summer; a mixed group lands somewhere in between. The padel section offers two memberships for that — padel only, or padel and tennis combined; both make court rental free (join here).

TSG uses membership status to decide not only the price but also who may book when. During prime time — Mon – Fri 17:00 – 23:00 and Sat/Sun 10:00 – 19:00:
Outside prime time none of that applies: no lead-time limit, no cap on open bookings, slots of 1 or 2 hours, and padel singles is allowed.
As of September 2026. The venue's own site is always authoritative — Bilgin, TSG Darmstadt, Bensheim, Seeheim. Bilgin has no membership at all: everyone pays the same court price, lighting included (there is a loyalty card — 14 sessions earn a free hour). TSG has three tiers — padel-section members play free, members of any other TSG section pay €5 per person, and non-members €8 in summer and €6 in winter. Bensheim and Seeheim simply halve the court price for members. Floodlight at Bensheim costs €2 extra and has to be arranged in advance.
Padel is the fastest route from picking up a racket to an actual rally. The ball comes back off the walls, the court is smaller than a tennis court and the serve is underarm — so the ball stays in play far longer, and the first hour is fun even with no experience.
It is almost always played as doubles, which means you need three other people. That is what this community is for: create a match in the app or join one, each tagged with a skill level so the group fits.
Two venues are in Darmstadt itself: the indoor Bilgin Sports Lounge at Frankfurter Str. 128 with five courts (two doubles, three singles), and TSG Darmstadt's Merck Racket Sport Arena at Heinrich-Fuhr-Straße 40 with two floodlit outdoor courts. In southern Hesse, TC Blau-Weiß Bensheim and TC Seeheim add two outdoor courts each — eleven courts in total.

Not necessarily. Bilgin and TSG Darmstadt rent rackets, at TSG through a vending machine between the two courts. Seeheim has no rental, so bring your own or find someone in the community with a spare. Trainers with decent grip are enough to start.
No. The community is open and free, and all four venues can be booked without a membership. It is cheaper at three of them: at the TSG, padel-section members play free all year and members of other TSG sections pay €5 instead of €8 per person. Bensheim and Seeheim halve the court price for members — €28 becomes €14. Bilgin has no membership at all, so everyone pays the same.
Every match in the app carries a skill level from beginner to pro, and you can see who has joined before you commit. Beyond that there is the WhatsApp group with over 600 players, plus regular events and tournaments.
The nearest courts this community covers are in Darmstadt — about 20 minutes by regional train from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof, or 30 to 40 minutes by car via the A5 and A67. Courts inside Frankfurt are not tracked here.
The court is 20 × 10 metres, noticeably smaller than a tennis court, and fully enclosed by glass and mesh. After the first bounce the ball may come off the wall and stay in play — which is where padel's long rallies come from.
The racket is short, solid and stringless, and the serve is underarm after a bounce. Both lower the barrier sharply: someone who has never played tennis is rallying within an hour instead of drilling technique. Players coming from tennis mostly have to unlearn treating the wall as an outball and start treating it as an ally.
